About
Welcome to the course on Urban Design and Optimizing Networks and Traffic Throughput. This course will teach you about design and how to use Traffic Flow Modeling to redesign cities, public spaces, complex intersections, and interchanges. You will learn how cities evolve in relation to travel routes and how to optimize traffic flow in urban networks, beltways, and suburban areas to enhance the quality of life in cities. Drawing from insights gained from a new model I have developed, we will apply model-based systems engineering methodology and concepts from graph theory to deepen your understanding of throughput, how to increase a network's efficiency through directionality, and how this influences opportunities in urban design. ** The coursework will be structured according to your learning needs and the following key concepts ** - Through a structured and analytical approach, we will examine how network structures influence congestion - Identify key intersections as leverage points and develop solutions that enhance overall efficiency - Develop traffic flow models that complement Urban Design concepts and solutions. Whether you are a transportation planner, engineer, or researcher, this course will equip you with innovative tools to address urban traffic challenges using my new model, Urban Network Systems Architecture and Design Approach.
